Beer myth resort Starkenberg
The Starkenberg
myth of beer myth resort is a unique and incomparable
combination of the medieval Starkenberg castle and
the modern Starkenberg beerbrewery.
Over the last 3 years of constrution we have created
a tour through our castle which covers an area of
more than 4000 sqm and provides every highlight our
castle has to offer – from the deepest cellar
to the highest peak.
In this tour you have the opportunity of discovering
the medieval castle, the “live” brewery
with the production process of our rewarded beer and
splendid ancient rooms. We are looking forward to
welcoming you!
Experience the world of beer and check out the Starkenberg
brewery during “live” operation. It is
the home of Austria’s most rewarded beer and
has been brewed here on this site since 1810.
During your journey through the medieval mythes of
the castle you are going to get a lot of information
and trivia about our beer and beer in general (e.g.
the health benefits of beer) and furthermore you will
experience beer in all its different forms.
Mediaeval hall of knights
This historic venue provides to possibilites of having
a meal. First, in modern style, i.e. sitting straight
up and second, lying on a coach in a kind of Roman
style. Our knighthall provides space for up to100
persons and can be book for private receptions, dinners,

Starkenberger Beer Pool
Another highlight which is featured in your tour
is the world’s only ‘beer-swimming-pools’.
The pools and the entire room have been decorated
by Wernfried Poschusta who is a local artist who is
furthermore internationally recognized. There is a
total of seven pools who can accomodated four persons
each and they are filled with oddments of the beer
production, which are very rich in vitamins and calcium,
and warm water. Just let us know your prefered temperature.
Those bath are very beneficial for dirty skin, open
wounds and psoriasis. Additionally such a bath activates
the blood circulation and smoothes your skin. The
included hops have a calming impact on body and soul.
- Autobahn A12 to Exit Imst/Fernpass (right after/before
the Roppen tunnel) heading towards Fernpass, after
4 km take a hard left at the “Biermythos”
sign, follow the winding road 1 km up the top of the
hill
- Coming from Füssen or Reutte head towards Imst
and take a hard right 2 km after the village of Tarrenz,
follow the winding road 1 km up the top of the hill
via train
All local and most express trains stop at the Imst
train station, from there take a taxi the the Starkenberg
castle, approx. 4 km
via airplane
The nearest airports are Innsbruck (55 km) and Munich
(170 km).
